One reason to love fall foods and flavors is: they are so versatile! There are so many different ways to use pumpkin spice. What I really LOVE is that they pair well with chocolate!!
This recipe has only 8 ingredients! This recipe is gluten free, grain free, plant based and depending on your chocolate choice, it can be made refined sugar free too! What I love about these bars is that they are satisfying. They will satisfy your fall cravings and your sugar cravings. Enjoy!
Yields 8-10 bars
Ingredients:
2 cups almond flour
1/4 cup cassava flour
1/2 cup maple syrup
pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup avocado oil
2 tsp pumpkin spice seasoning
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Directions: Preheat your oven to 350. Take a baking dish (about the size of a brownie pan) and line with parchment paper or with oil. Then in a mixing bowl, mix together the almond flour, cassava flour, maple syrup, salt, vanilla extract, and avocado oil. Mix until well combined. Then begin to scoop half the dough out of the bowl and transfer to the baking dish. Flatten in the dish until the bottom of the dish is covered. Bake for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, add the pumpkin spice to the leftover dough and mix well. Then begin melting your chocolate. For this, I boiled a pot of water, then melted the chocolate chips in a glass bowl resting above the boiling water. Remove the baking dish from the oven, and begin spreading the melted chocolate over the first layer. Then begin to take the remaining dough and crumble it over the top of the chocolate layer. Then place back in the oven for 30 minutes. Remove from oven, let cool, and enjoy!
